Speaker Bios:
Lori Gear McBride - UVM women’s coach. She was the member of the 1994 North Carolina team that won an NCAA Title. She will be Vermont’s 7th head coach. She spent the last 5 years as the head coach at Colby College where she turned the program around. Last year Colby was 24-5 setting a new school record for wins. Colby was ranked 2nd in New England and earned its first ever national ranking.
Corey Rusin – Assistant women’s coach at Wesleyan College. Corey starts her second year as an assistant coach. She graduated from Boston College where she played basketball. Previously she was at Twin Valley High School, Wilmington, VT. She was the VBCA Player of the Year.
Michael Harding – Saint Michael’s men’s coach. Aa four year starter at Bowdoin College. He was an assistant coach there following graduation. He then spent 5 years as an assistant at Stonehill. Stonehill was the Division 2 East’s top seed, 24-6. While he was there they were 106-46 and made 3 NCAA tournament appearances.
Dan Sherpardson – is the Vermont Rules Interpreter and one of Vermont’s top officials.
Paul Culpo – Castleton men’s coach. Prior to Castleton Paul spent 6 years at Hartwick College. He brought a struggling program back to its respectability, his final year Hartwick was 15-12 and ECAC upstate champs, the first in the program’s history. Before Harwick, Paul was assistant to Steve Lappas at UMASS. He also coached professional basketball in England, was a 3 year assistant coach at Saint Michael’s, assistant at Genesee Community College, and assistant at UMASS Boston. Paul is a Saint Michael’s graduate where he was Cum Laude.
