KINGSTON, R.I. -- Nicole Levesque
Andres (left) and Dave Fredrickson were recently honored as members
of the inaugural 'Dream Team' at the New England Basketball Hall of
Fame induction ceremony held on Oct. 4 at the University of Rhode
Island. Fredrickson coached Mt. Anthony to eight state championships
and amassed over 500 high school varsity boys basketball victories
in 36 seasons.
Levesque Andres scored over 1,900 points and guided MAU to two state
basketball titles before moving on to Wake Forest. She was also the
first and only Vermonter to play in the Women's National Basketball
Association (WNBA) as a member of the Charlotte Sting.
Other Vermonters on the 2002 Dream Team included Henry Dalrymple
(St. Johnsbury Academy), Jean Robinson (Essex), Richard Tarrant
(St. Michael's College), Bob Tipson (Champlain College) and the
1962 Spaulding boys basketball team.
